Your voice is an integral part of who you are. As children we sing for pleasure and joy, we have fun with our voice and play with it. That's how we learn to speak our language with exactly the same intonation as our parents. We are born with musical ears and we embody our natural musicianship in everything we do.
At some point in our lives we learn that we cannot sing whenever we want to and that our voice has to meet certain aesthetic standards in order for us to be "allowed" to sing. We start to feel self-conscious about our voice and stop sharing it freely - we stop singing.
And by stoping to share our songs, we also stop connecting with our authentic creative selves.
Which is why in my singing sessions, I not only teach you singing, I also work with you on freeing your most authentic aligned and creative self. I guide you to find your way back to the most magnificent vibrations of your voice, that are beneficial for you as well as for those around you.
And we sing songs that actually bring you joy, are fun to sing and make you feel amazing inside and out.
Here are 5 benefits of singing that you might not know about:
1. Natural mood enhancer
When we sing, we release endorphins, dopamines and serotonin. Hormones that are responsible for us to feel good. Just like when you exercise, dance or watch a fun movie, singing can make you feel good.
2. Natural connector
I know from experience that singing with others can alter your mood like nothing else. When you sing with others, you release oxytocin, which is the hormone for human connection. Also singing with your child, gives you a moment of connection. Children love to sing.
3. Natural massage
When we sing, we create vibrations in our bodies. These tiny vibrations act like a massage for our entire body. And it is completely free. Try it, start humming a tune and feel where you feel vibrations in your body.
4. Deep breathing exercise
Singing acts like a deep breathing exercise, because without concentrating on it, you breathe out longer than you inhale. Breathing like this helps you to relax and feel better about yourself. It also helps you to be more mindful of the present moment. So singing can also function as a mindfulness exercise.
5. Connection to the right side of your brain
When we speak we use mostly the left side of our brain. For singing we use the right side, which is where the control for our emotions, intuition and creativity lies. Activating our right side can help us feel more connected to our creativity, intuition and see the bigger picture.
Through years of coaching incredibly gifted clients and my own experience of training my voice and singing for my audience, I have created a program that is extremely efficient, because it takes into account your voice as well as the embodiment of all that you are.

Katy, Author and Coach
Working with Sonja was a pleasure. I immediately connected with her down to earth personality. Her advice was spot on and she was able to see exactly where I needed to make changes. The suggestions she gave were invaluable to helping me connect with my audience as well as changing my mindset in preparation for filming my videos.
I would recommend Sonja again and again.
Katrina, Coach and Entrepreneur
“I had two important presentations last week and both of them went well thanks to your coaching sessions. I am really happy about the progress I made. It was a pleasure working with you.”
Marc, Public Relations Officer
“Thank you very very much for your coaching, Sonja!! I'm now paying much more attention to the "voice etiquette" and methods you taught in day-to-day situations, plus it gave a good impulse to improve other areas of my life :) I am aware mastering public speaking is a long-term process for me, but this training is the first time I feel I made progress on this! :)”
Lara, Public Policy Manager
“Thank you Sonja for everything! I will remember for very long what you have taught me !!! :-)
I did not realize the coaching would go further than voice coaching only, which in the end helped me to reach my goals by taking into account the bigger picture. I have also learned a lot about self-branding which I did not realize would be offered as well. “
